- Andrew Shilliday (AS) champion grade 1 piper from Dungannon, Northern Ireland suffered a severe illness that resulted in the loss of all his fingers. A severe blow to anybody but devastating to a piper..... but ... Andrew has the will to recover and in July 2017 he saw and heard the "EPIC" electronic bagpipe chanter and as it only needed to be touched to be played, he decided he could play it, but it needed some modifications. So in July 2017 Cleartone modified the "EPIC" Electronic Chanter hole positions also some other minor adjustments and Andrew has been playing it for over a year now with great success. In Aug/Sept 2018 Andrew arranged with G1 chanters and reeds to modify a "real" G1 chanter moving the hole positions etc to suit and he is now back to playing a "real" set of bagpipes. The "EPIC" electronics can be built into a "real" chanter and give him the best of both worlds ensuring both feel the same to play.
